Approaching photography and moving images in a playful and colorful manner, Laurence Philomène spends most of her time playing with dolls and eating cheetos, and it shows. Winner of flickr’s 20 under 20 curator choice award, Laurence started her career at age 14 and has grown to create work utilizing color theory but also snack foods, press on nails, doll wigs and pepto bismol that explore softness and gender identity and often challenge contemporary photographic tropes. Some of her clients include Teen Vogue, Yahoo Style and Elle Girl Korea. Her video work seeks to highlight her subjects’ own uniqueness.
