Sol Bela's work was born due to the underrepresentation of black referents in the media while growing up in the diaspora; her photography reflects her own story, her surroundings, her blackness and her struggle.
Sol Bela has worked with brands such as Adobe, Getty Images, Dove and Polaroid Originals. Her work has been featured in Vogue and Paper Magazine.

Laurence Philomene is a non-binary photographer from Montreal, Canada. They create colourful images that centre around queer and trans experiences, often through long-form and autobiographical projects.

Laurence’s work is informed by their lived experiences as a chronically ill, non-binary transgender artist coming of age amid the rise of social media. Through high-saturated, cinematic and caring images, their work celebrates trans existence, and studies identity as a space in constant flux.

Instantly recognizable by their signature use of colour and ambient light, their photographs humanize historically marginalized identities, and act as a love letter to their community.

Schael Marcéus is a Haitian Canadian photographer and filmmaker currently living and working in Montreal. Deeply rooted in the human experience and in his own development in a social context, Marcéus’ work weaves between portraiture, documentary, and fashion as it platforms the stories of unheard voices. 

Recurring themes center notions of blackness and home, conceptualized through sexual and/or gender identities. His body of work is itself constructed as a kind of visual narrative; each piece teeming with embedded meaning. 

Marcéus’ work has been featured in multiple exhibitions in Montreal, including the Montreal Fine Arts Museum; and his activism led him to be a speaker on various panels regarding the realities of being a black artist in today’s society.

Aicha Cherif is a director based in NYC. She is passionate about social justice, culture, and people. She is a breath of fresh air, bringing a young, diverse, and unique perspective to all of her projects.

At a young age, Aicha came to the United States fleeing from gender-based violence in her home country Guinea, West Africa. This background has made Aicha a tireless advocate for human rights and women’s issues. 

Her directorial debut *Cut* received the Global Impact Award at the Girl Impact The World Film Festival. The documentary sheds light on Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in Guinea and America. In 2017, Aicha was accepted to be a Tribeca Film Fellow. There she directed her second short film, *I Am The Only One* exploring the effects of family separation on her relationship with her mother. Since then Aicha has directed commercial work for Nike, Snapchat, Vivian Attire, and more. 

She creates art that comes from the soul and hopes to move people with her work while having a long-lasting effect on culture.

Amelia has a finely honed sense of music and old films. Since her radio show Amelia has gone on to make short films and music videos. Amelia just finished a project for Target through Deutsch and a Nascar commercial.

Claire is a Los Angeles based artist, director and photographer. At 15, she joined Adolescent, a media company focused on the creation of original content by youth for youth. Over the years, she developed and directed short form content, serialized content, and documentary work with a focus on American youth, human equality and personal empowerment. By 18, her client list included Hasbro, Nike, Target, Disney, American Girl, Netflix and Ad Council. In 2015, she was named one of SHOOT Magazine’s New Directors to watch. Claire has recently focused her studies on a more interdisciplinary approach. She is currently working on projects which fuse installation, design, and video to create physical and digital spaces that challenge traditional narrative practices.

Molly Smith is a 19 year old writer and filmmaker. Molly’s voice and vision speak from her passion as a vocal member of Gen Z who sees their unique perspective as the future of film and media. Bold and unafraid to tackle difficult subjects, Molly’s film “I Don’t Know” tackled the issue of race in America, winning festivals across the country. Her film “Dear America” voiced the frustration of her generation on the heels of the Parkland, FL school shooting and garnered national attention, a National Student Production Emmy in the PSA category, and the National Coalition Against Censorship’s Youth Free Expression award. She has continued to challenge norms, raise awareness and evoke empathy through powerful short narratives. Her goal is always to use strong imagery and the spoken word to tell stories which spark conversations and change perspectives.

A storyteller first and foremost, Molly’s writing has been recognized with two Scholastic National Gold Medals, a top playwright under 24 designation from the Be Original Theatre Festival, and a National Student Production Emmy in the writing craft category. 

Molly was named a 2020 Cameron Impact Scholar by the Bryan Cameron Education Foundation and attends Yale University studying writing and film.

By 16 she had won awards, signed to an agency and left her small hometown to be flown across the world by major brands and musicians. For ten years she kept a blog chronicling both the beautiful and ugly parts of her life, and found a dedicated following of fellow creatives with big feelings. 

Nirrimi is now a 28 year-old photographer, director and writer living on the west coast of Australia with her filmmaker partner, 9 year old daughter and her whippet named Ru. She is always creating from her studio and remains wildly obsessed with telling honest and human stories through art.

Sita McVay was born in 1998 in a small town in Arkansas, the youngest of seven children. When she was ten years old, her older sister began taking photographs of her. Sita, wanting instead to be the one taking photos, would steal her sister’s camera and run off to take self portraits in the fields surrounding her home, using boxes and stacking sticks and leaves to use as a tripod. “I absolutely fell in love with capturing images from then on. I was so intrigued by the way I could use my imagination and express emotion through an image. The whole idea of being able to create and capture so much beauty was amazing to me. That’s mostly what I try to focus on now while shooting and to just try to make something that’s raw and makes you really feel something. That’s my main goal”. By the time Sita was 11 years old, she was photographing every day and had accumulated one of the largest Flickr followings. In the following years, Sita developed a body of work that is now considered to be one of the great seminal documentations of youth. Sita has been called a prodigy, and we agree. She is truly extraordinary. But if you really get to know Sita and her photography, she’s just Sita, “at the beginning of my journey, quirky and ambitious, in love with beauty and the act of creation, trying my best to work and learn as much as I can, and looking forward to whatever happens in my future.
