Aicha Cherif is a director based in NYC. She is passionate about social justice, culture, and people. She is a breath of fresh air, bringing a young, diverse, and unique perspective to all of her projects.

At a young age, Aicha came to the United States fleeing from gender-based violence in her home country Guinea, West Africa. This background has made Aicha a tireless advocate for human rights and women’s issues. 

Her directorial debut *Cut* received the Global Impact Award at the Girl Impact The World Film Festival. The documentary sheds light on Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in Guinea and America. In 2017, Aicha was accepted to be a Tribeca Film Fellow. There she directed her second short film, *I Am The Only One* exploring the effects of family separation on her relationship with her mother. Since then Aicha has directed commercial work for Nike, Snapchat, Vivian Attire, and more. 

She creates art that comes from the soul and hopes to move people with her work while having a long-lasting effect on culture.

I am a Turkish-German collage artist based in London. I was a longtime contributor at Rookie Mag, Tavi Gevinson's beloved magazine for teenage girls. Now I create collages, packaging, clothes and larger art pieces for a variety of brands and publications including i-D, The Atlantic, VICE, ELLE, MaxMara, Kathmandu, Lazy Oaf, WeTransfer and Boots. I also art direct, frequently collaborating with other artists. 

In April 2020, I co-founded Nearness, an online magazine that documents the various responses to changes brought on by COVID-19. The beautiful art and writing on the site encourages self-reflection, open conversations about mental health, and a rare and real opportunity to slow down and process what is happening to us. Although it exists primarily as a digital space, it encourages readers to create tangible, homemade art through the use of printable collage kits.

I also work as a director's assistant in the film industry and in advertising. Most recently I was the assistant to director Autumn de Wilde on the Focus Features adaptation of Jane Austen's *Emma*, starring Anya Taylor-Joy and Johnny Flynn. Before that, I worked as a director's assistant on *Viva la Vulva*, Kim Gehrig's award-winning video ad for the feminine hygiene brand Bodyform.

Born in Bogota, Colombia but raised in Upstate New York, Carlos’ upbringing has been a unique blend of staying connected to his roots, while navigating the melting pot that is American culture. Since age 14, Carlos has explored New York City with a camera, implementing his passion for filmmaking with his attraction to frenetic city living.

Carlos shot his first music video in NYC at the age of 16. In the four years since then, he has followed his passions by moving to LA. He received his MFA in Film & Television Production from USC. Chris is the third funniest person in his immediate family, behind both of his sisters and sometimes his dad. She grew up writing plays until age 7, when she began picking up her dad’s camera and making her own videos. She figured out how to edit all on her own, and continued to make videos throughout early life. In high school while winning short film awards, she was given an analog camera by her parents for her 18th birthday, which opened up the world of photography to her. She now lives in San Francisco for school and travels down to LA often to work on short films and music videos for artists such as Lil Yachty, Oliver Tree, and Julia Michaels. She plans to spend 2021 writing screenplays and creating more video projects.

Jada Imani M is a photographer, filmmaker, and creative director from Prince George’s County Maryland. She began her journey in 2015 while attending The Art Institute of Washington where she studied Digital Filmmaking and Video Production. Since she became a full time creative, she has worked with artists such as Odd Mojo, Foots X Coles, Cheakaity, Ubrgrl, and more. Jada continues working as a full time creative.

Born and raised in the DMV area, she uses her personal experiences and influences throughout her work. Colorful, distorted, creative, and recognizable are some of the ways people have described her images. As a Black woman photographer, she aims to show people not only how she views the world, but how she wishes the world could be. Consistently inspired by her community, she pushes forward positive visuals of Black people in unique spaces in which they normally would not be seen.

Jessie was born in Nashville, TN and raised in Los Angeles, CA.
She began her film career by editing her family’s home movies. From there, she made videos and photoshoots with her friends, played around with analog methods, and started to seriously consider a career in directing and photography. In 2018, she graduated with a B.A. in Directing and Producing and a minor in Creative Writing from Cal State Long Beach.

“Tin Man” earned her a Merit Award from the YoungArts Foundation in 2013 and “Being” won the LA County Student Filmmaker Award at the Burbank International Film Festival that same year. “Systematic” screened at the Feminist Border Arts Film Festival, the 25 Under 25 Film Fest, and the Fake Flesh Film Festival. In 2017, she received funds from the Hollywood Foreign Press to make “Don.” Her short film, “Hold On,” premiered at Sethward’s Show & Tell Screening Spectacular. Recently she directed a music video for Kini Solana and Louis Quantrille’s single, “Not Ur B*tch” that was an official selection at the 2020 National Film Festival for Talented Youth. While in quarantine, Jessie shot 13 socially distanced photoshoots.

Jessie is inspired by the showmanship of everyday people, revealing humor in the uncomfortable, and defying sex-role stereotypes. She also really loves camp aesthetics, saturated colors, and Googie architecture. Her biggest influences are Rachel Bloom, David Lynch, John Waters, and Tim Burton.
In her free time, she writes and performs sketch comedy and is constantly searching for the best BLT sandwich in LA. You will likely find her reading a copy of MAD magazine in an old diner.

Kendall Terra is a 22-year-old director, cinematographer and photographer based in Salt Lake City, Utah. A film and advertising major at Savannah College of Art and Design led Kendall to start her filmmaking career at Camp4 Collective, where she gained experience working for outdoor adventure brands such as The North Face, Columbia Sportswear, Apple, Jaybird Headphones, Merrell and Wolverine Boots.

Kiele Twarowski is a 24 year old visual artist, writer, and self-proclaimed “avalanche of feel-it-all,” after a line in her favorite Andrea Gibson poem. With a B.F.A. in Photography from the Savannah College of Art & Design, Kiele’s passion lies in photography and filmmaking. With an eye for soft light and the desire to evoke feelings of nostalgia, she captures herself and those around her in an intimate, diaristic manner.

Laura Alston is a Caribbean American multidisciplinary artist who uses traditional and emerging mediums to highlight unsung narratives within the global black community. 
Focused primarily in photography and film, her work centers race and identity, and engages within themes of autonomy and empathy. Laura’s dedication to such visual storytelling has earned her honors at the Puffin Foundation, collaborations with Tinder and Wldkat, and exhibitions at the Studio Museum in Harlem, Tate Britain, and Columbia University.

Laurence Philomene is a non-binary photographer from Montreal, Canada. They create colourful images that centre around queer and trans experiences, often through long-form and autobiographical projects.

Laurence’s work is informed by their lived experiences as a chronically ill, non-binary transgender artist coming of age amid the rise of social media. Through high-saturated, cinematic and caring images, their work celebrates trans existence, and studies identity as a space in constant flux.

Instantly recognizable by their signature use of colour and ambient light, their photographs humanize historically marginalized identities, and act as a love letter to their community.

Laurence is an honouree of The 30 (“PDN 30” - 2020), recipient of the Getty Images Creatives In Quarantine Bursary (2020)and the 2020 Women Photograph mentorship program. Their work has been presented in over 40 exhibitions worldwide, including solo exhibits in Canada, Germany, France, and Poland.

Lucy Blumenfield is a photographer and filmmaker based in Los Angeles and New York City with a focus in editorial and music photography, as well as brand and narrative filmmaking. Her work has been featured in publications such as i-D, LA Record, Pure Nowhere, Local Wolves, and Alt Citizen. In 2018, Lucy wrote, directed, and shot her first short film, Chrysopoeia. In 2019, she toured with the band Hot Flash Heat Wave, capturing portraits and lifestyle photos in addition to a video recap. Since then has directed a music video, worked on two feature films, and, in October 2020, completed shooting for her next short film starring Olivia Nikkanen. She currently attends Columbia University.

Born in Beijing, China, Michael Yuanhao Deng is a seventeen-year- old film director, screenwriter and photographer. In his elementary school, he was taught basic editing skills, and an old camcorder lying in his father’s closet had let him set foot in visual storytelling. In middle school, he honed his leadership by directing a handful of plays and short films, during which he met his best friend, Claude, a talented music composer and pianist. Currently studying at a boarding school in America, Michael wishes to double major in film and business in college, where he aspires to master his craft and meet new challenges.

Beginning his career at the age of ten, Michael aims to only make film that immediately stands out through its distinct style and natural voice: grabbing the audience by the bones and evoking their sensitive emotions. Many of Michael’s works portray the theme of hope: he wishes to use his natural storytelling skills to speak a voice of his own, filling the world with cheerful and lovely elements. Michael’s favorite directors are Ang Lee, Steven Spielberg, and Damien Chazelle. His favorite films are Life of Pi, Room, and Whiplash.

In 2014, Michael founded LemonTree Film in China, a platform for teens to collaborate and gain experience in filmmaking. With this platform, his team collaborated with AIC Education (a top educational consulting firm) and Siyu Harmony Society, (a NGO in China with over six years of experience in improving education and welfare in developing regions). Since ninth grade, Michael spends every summer leading volunteer teaching teams into Liangshan, while making documentaries in local schools and raising social awareness. His first short documentary “Family Under the Roof” was released by the Children’s Channel of China Central Television in 2016, winning two Best Doc awards and screening at major film festivals such as Austin, Long Beach Indie, and CICFF. In 2017, his photographic works also received three Gold Keys in Scholastic Art and Writing by Columbia. Having just finished spec spots for Under Armour, Whatsapp and ESPN, Michael is now editing his second major documentary “Under the Windhorse,” which was filmed in Tibet over the summer.
