“When advertisers enter the space, they should be sure to invest in it, not just for profit but to uplift and amplify women who have historically been overlooked and mislabeled as unmarketable,” said Raven Baker, social and community lead at Adolescent Content. “In the WNBA, a league where more than 70% of players are Black, it’s a choice to platform the same faces. Not addressing these gaps can alienate Gen Z and Gen Alpha fans, both old and new, who support brands that align with their principles.”
